But the Blackout can be called successful attempt to fix the situation.
The movie is not for everybody. We watched the dubbed version which was a little sad, and sometimes hilarious.

Cut out some fillers so to say.
To start off, I wish there were more movies like this. I wasn't expecting too much from this movie, however. Honestly some of the vfx shots were extremely well done given whatever the budget for this movie actually is.
A patriarch of a wealthy and powerful family suddenly passes away, leaving his daughter with a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy the family. This unexpected respite quickly descends into madness when they encounter a supernatural enemy more terrifying than anything seen on the battlefield. Mid way through the movie the plot is revealed it and becomes painfully predictable. In all, really watchable and really well done! The good points:
55 out of 75 found this helpful. Good action with some special effects I don't care what anyone says this is a fantastic Sci-Fi action thriller! After you get over the dubbing which is in no way bad just a little wierd with lip movement not matching this is surprisingly good. How long will the last outpost of mankind survive? There is a lot of Blade Runner's estetic in the definition of future Moscow but then it turns to war movie with a very particular elegance of its own. If you like movies like "World War Z" and "Blade Runner 2049", most likely, you will like this movie as well. Five American soldiers assigned to hold a French Chateau near the end of World War II.

Just watched the new Russian fantastic cinema - Blackout.
CGI is great and the action is brilliant! No meteorites hit Earth, no terrorists put the world in danger, no atomic war was started, but something did go wrong. I'd say, the camera work was well above par, astounding even, and the CGI works were also outstanding, up there with the 200 million dollars Hollywood blockbusters. Excellent action, CGI and fightscenes Or is it today? Stunning visually in fairness, no complaints on that front but the dubbing is woeful, you'd swear whoever was doing it did it blind without seeing the context of what they were saying, at times they sound almost bored even when in the middle of a firefight etc... Despite the fact that the very phrase today sounds almost like a curse, the film is surprisingly good.

Military is sent to investigate and things get even worse; particularly when aliens appear.
