to access the modem in Bridge mode, you need to set static IP on your laptop in 192.168.100.x subnet and access 192.168.100.1.

Create local area connection with IP address 192.168.0.2 Then in browser go to 192.168.0.1 to get access to router GUI. So far, I haven't found a way to go back into the Netgear setup screens to change the modem-only setting on the Router Mode page.

For Fiber services, you may also need to enable VLAN tagging (201). It is not a "AP mode". Proceed to Advance tab and click on Administration then Router Mode.

Fortunately, it's really easy to switch between using the C7000 as a modem only, and as both a modem and a router.
I'm not aware of any iPhone issues with the Linksys.

This device has a VDSL port and an Internet port at the back panel. The default password is password. No upstream channel is locked.

Thats why ONLY ONE ethernet port works.
To make the modem be just a modem, we need to put it in Transparent Bridging Mode. This enabled a stable connection on the iPhone, but led to connection issues with a new Samsung Smart TV. This is where you would connect your phone cable (ADSL/VDSL connection) or Ethernet cable (cable/fiber optic connection).
