This was a great biopic.

The lovely and multi-talented Claire Danes did fantastic work playing an autistic person.
I would recommend any parent or caregiver whose child has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to show them that someone with this condition can achieve so much in life and also for those who have no understanding of this condition to watch this movie and try to understand what life is like for individuals who have this condition, to see the world the way a person with Autism sees it.
Temple's encounters with bullying and those who questioned her own nature as a human without bothering to consider her intelligence and abilities, her own ways of identifying and solving problems, and her unwavering determination, nicely carry the movie on one level. Danes, who is in nearly every scene of director Mick Jackson's film, is remarkable, embodying Grandin's various idiosyncrasies (such as talking, too loud, too fast, and too much) without resorting to caricature.
Only through the dogged efforts of her mother (Julia Ormond), who was told that "lack of bonding" with her child might have caused the autism, did Grandin learn to speak; to go to high school, college, and grad school; and to become a highly productive scientist, enduring the cruel taunts of her classmates and the resistance of many of the adults in her life (most of whom are shown as either narrow-minded prigs or macho, chauvinist jerks). I am the mother of an autistic 5 year old and wanted to own it after having watched it. All Aspie aren't geniuses but this give people a good idea of one facet of autism as every autist is different.

This was interesting watching although I felt it could be a bit more helpful in the way of explaining how a child may see things.
