6 October 1955 United Airlines Flight 409 crashed into Medicine Bow Peak during a flight from Denver, Colorado to Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Flying Tiger Line was also known as Flying Tigers. Later in 1949, the Civil Aeronautics Board awarded Flying Tiger Line the very first commercial air cargo route in the United States. There were none in 1963 and one in 1964 on December 24.
