Fluffles is left clearly shaken by the ordeal, unlike her owner. Gromit (usually nicknamed "Lad", "Mate", or "Chuck" by Wallace) is Wallace's silent sidekick, best friend, and pet dog.
It is also hinted that due to her owner's death, she will now live with Wallace and Gromit, helping them deliver bread. While on a delivery for their bakery business, Wallace and Gromit save Piella Bakewell, a former pin-up girlfor the Bake-o-Lite bread company, and her nervous poodle Fluffles when the brakes on her bicycle fail. Though Gromit attempts to comfort her, she apparently leaves out of heartache. Fluffles is first seen riding in her mistress's basket. Though it's not shown (the screen cut to Wallace and Gromit with the bomb), it is clear she hit Fluffles for betraying her. She is Piella's beautiful and caring yet slightly nervous poodle and the love interest (later girlfriend) of Gromit. Fortunately Fluffles recovers and helps fight off Piella, before assisting Wallace and Gromit in reducing the impact of the bomb, (which has accidentally ended up in Wallace's trousers), by filling them with dough. His surname is never given. Withdrawn and lacking in confidence due to many years of unkind treatment, most likely at her owner's hands, Fluffles is nonetheless a caring soul who strikes a romantic chord with Gromit. She quickly accepts, joining the group on their delivery. Fluffles would retaliate and bite her, which becomes the last straw for Piella. Born on February 12th (possibly in mid-80's), Gromit went on to graduate from "Dogwarts University" with a double first in Engineering for Dogs.
He usually wears a white shirt, brown wool trousers, a green knitted pullover, and a red tie.
He goes to Piella's home to check on her, only to find he has walked into a trap.
The trio put on chef hats and drive away into the sunset, the van swerves and Wallace exclaims, "Woah! Gromit is the brains of the duo, and often rolls his eyes at Wallace's mad antics and ideas, often having to save Wallace from many scrapes and calamities. Fluffles is later held hostage by her owner when Gromit shows Wallace the bomb and convinces him of PIella's true intentions.
As Gromit and Wallace prepare to deliver bread to get over their romantic losses, they stop to see a crying Fluffles in the roadway. Enraged by this betrayal, Piella takes Fluffles, breaks off her engagement with Wallace, and leaves the house, covered in flour and determined to pay her out
The pair's moment ends quickly when Piella calls for Fluffles. Though it's not shown what happened, Gromit apparently gets caught in the moment and forgets to keep both hands on the wheel, resulting in Wallace yelling at him to watch out.
