Dozens of atmospheric and land-soil variables are available through this dataset, from temperatures, winds, and precipitation to soil moisture and atmospheric ozone concentration. To assist users in the analysis of multi-disciplinary datasets and promote interoperable data analysis, NOMADS also services derived/other model data including paleoclimate (tree ring and ice core) data, observational, and derived observational datasets. Produced by several dozen scientists under guidance from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), this model offers hourly data with a horizontal resolution down to one-half of a degree (approximately 56 km) around Earth for many variables.
