You can supposedly do Mesh mode though as long as you have a controller.

I was asking if the modes listed were equivalent.can anybody confirm that this is still the case?

If you are dealing with a single location, a small office or home network, autonomous mode is recommended. I have always used the autonomous software image for APs to bridge. I'll move forward a bit more confidently knowing this.

When you are deploying the AP on your network, you must decide what mode you want to run.

Conditions: If you move factory=local, convert to bridge ..AP moves to local ( incorrect behaviour ) Similarly if you move factory=bridge, convert to local, AP moves to bridge (incorrect behaviour).
