Pennebaker to join what would be Dylan’s final acoustic tour, in England in 1965, Pennebaker figured he was being hired to shoot promotional concert footage.

This two-DVD set presents two and a half hours of unused footage from Don't Look Back, D.A. The resulting documentary shows the scruffy, protest song-singing Dylan transform into the folk-rock icon over the course of just the three summers, culminating in the infamous 1965 performance of “Maggie’s Farm,” the first electric guitar ever played at Newport, and an event that changed the history of music forever.

I don't know how many times I have seen this film over the last 35 years (Saw it the first time in the 1980's) and I have bought it a number of times and this version is the one to get! Have loved this for ages since seeing it first on 16 mm then video, then DVD and now THIS version with the usual high quality extras.

While "Don't Look Back" is one of my all-time favorite movies very disappointed that this Criterion release did not include the commentary previously featured on the "65 Revisited' bonus disc.
Appearances by Allen Ginsberg, Bob Neuwirth, and Joan Baez make this film a cultural and historic treasure.

Even if you were born decades after this doc was made, you'll feel nostalgia for a time when the Beatles, the Stones and of course Dyan were on the cusp of transforming the face of rock n roll.
